The PARKER 1 X 3/8 PTR-S is a straight pipe reducing bushing designed to connect a 1-inch male MNPTF thread to a 3/8-inch female FNPTF thread in a single inline fitting. Rated to a maximum working pressure of 4500 psi, this bushing is built for demanding hydraulic and industrial piping applications where reliable thread engagement and pressure integrity are required. The hex body measures 1-3/8 inches across flats, providing a solid wrench grip during installation. Overall length is 1-3/8 inches. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic technicians install this type of fitting when reducing a larger threaded port to accept smaller-diameter line connections.
This reducing bushing is suited for use in industrial fluid power systems, hydraulic manifolds, compressed air lines, and other high-pressure piping assemblies that use NPT-standard threaded connections. The straight configuration makes it appropriate for in-line port reductions where space is limited and a close-coupled transition is needed. It meets SAE 140140 standards, making it compatible with system assemblies requiring that designation.

Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, plumber, or qualified hydraulic technician in accordance with applicable codes. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant compatible with the system fluid — do not use sealant on the first one or two threads. Use a calibrated torque wrench and tighten to the fitting manufacturer's recommended specifications for the thread size and material involved; do not over-torque tapered pipe threads.
