The PARKER 1/4 X 1/8 PTR-SS is a straight stainless steel pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1/4 inch male NPTF thread down to a 1/8 inch female NPTF thread in hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation plumbing systems. Rated to 6,000 psi maximum working pressure, this fitting is suited for high-pressure fluid and gas lines where a reliable threaded reduction is required. The MNPTF x FNPTF connection type provides a pressure-tight, dry-seal thread form without requiring thread sealant tape in many applications. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians are the primary installers of this fitting class.
This bushing is commonly used in industrial fluid power systems, process instrumentation lines, and compressed air distribution where a male 1/4 inch NPT port must be reduced to accept a 1/8 inch female NPT fitting or instrument connection. Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, plumber, or qualified hydraulic technician. Always depressurize and isolate the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. NPTF dry-seal threads are engineered for a metal-to-metal seal; inspect threads for damage before installation and verify whether the application requires thread sealant per system specifications. Tighten to manufacturer system standards using an appropriately sized wrench on the hex flats — do not use the pipe body as a tightening point.
