The PARKER 1/2 X 3/8 PTR-S is a straight pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1/2 inch male NPT fitting connection down to a 3/8 inch female NPT port. Constructed from zinc-plated steel, it is rated for up to 6000 psi working pressure, making it suitable for high-pressure hydraulic and industrial fluid power lines. The MNPTF x FNPTF thread configuration provides a pressure-tight, tapered thread seal without requiring additional sealing compound on properly mated surfaces. Plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic technicians install this fitting when adapting between differently sized NPT-threaded components in fluid systems.
This bushing is used in industrial and commercial piping assemblies where a male NPT pipe or fitting must thread into a larger female NPT port, stepping the connection down from 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch. Typical applications include hydraulic manifolds, compressed air distribution lines, oil lines, and general fluid power plumbing in both stationary and mobile equipment. Its straight, compact profile suits installations with limited clearance around the fitting.
Designed as a standard MNPTF x FNPTF straight pipe bushing for use with 1/2 inch male NPT and 3/8 inch female NPT threaded ports in industrial hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid power piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed pipefitters, hydraulic technicians, or qualified tradespeople working on fluid power or compressed air systems. Shut down and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT threads per system fluid and pressure requirements; do not overtighten tapered threads, as this can crack fittings or distort port threads. Follow applicable codes such as ASME B31.3 for process piping or the relevant hydraulic system OEM guidelines.
