The PARKER 1/2 X 1/4 PTR-S is a straight pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1/2-inch male NPT thread down to a 1/4-inch female NPT thread in hydraulic and pneumatic plumbing systems. Constructed from zinc-plated steel, this bushing carries a maximum working pressure rating of 6000 psi, making it suitable for high-pressure fluid and air lines. With a 7/8-inch hex size and an overall length of 1.125 inches, it fits standard wrench access in tight manifold and block configurations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians install this type of fitting when adapting between mismatched port sizes on valves, manifolds, cylinders, and inline components.
This bushing is appropriate for industrial, commercial, and trade applications where a threaded port reduction is needed within a high-pressure hydraulic or pneumatic circuit. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape in accordance with the system fluid type and the fitting manufacturer guidance unless a dry-seal application is specified. Do not overtighten tapered NPT threads, as this can crack the fitting or damage the mating port.
