The PARKER 1 1/4 X 1/2 PTR-S is a straight hex pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/4 inch male NPTF thread down to a 1/2 inch female NPTF thread in a single inline connection. Rated to 3000 psi maximum working pressure, it is built for demanding industrial fluid and pneumatic systems where pressure integrity and thread sealing are critical. The hex body measures 1-3/4 inches across flats, allowing standard wrench engagement for a secure, leak-resistant makeup. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting when a reducing connection is required between two NPTF-threaded components in the same straight axis.
This bushing is suited for use in hydraulic lines, compressed air systems, industrial fluid distribution headers, and plant utility piping wherever a 1-1/4 inch MNPTF port must be stepped down to a 1/2 inch FNPTF connection. The NPTF thread form provides a dry-seal engagement that controls leakage at the thread flanks without relying solely on sealant, making it appropriate for higher-pressure service in both stationary and mobile equipment installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for industrial piping systems using 1-1/4 inch MNPTF male ports and 1/2 inch FNPTF female connections in straight-run reducing applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or industrial maintenance technician familiar with NPTF thread assembly practices. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape in accordance with the system fluid compatibility and applicable plumbing or mechanical codes. Do not over-tighten; use a calibrated torque procedure based on the fitting size and system requirements as specified by the system designer.
