The PANDUIT UTP28X40MVL is a Cat 6A 28 AWG unshielded twisted pair (UTP) patch cord designed for high-density structured cabling installations. Built to Cat 6A performance standards, it supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications and delivers reliable signal transmission across data, voice, and video network infrastructures. The 28 AWG construction results in a slimmer, more flexible cable body compared to standard 23 AWG Cat 6A cords, making it well suited for congested patch panels and cable management environments where airflow and bend radius are critical concerns. Installation is typically performed by low-voltage cabling technicians and network infrastructure professionals.
This patch cord is used in enterprise, commercial, and data center environments where Cat 6A performance is required at the horizontal or equipment connection level. The slim 28 AWG design is particularly advantageous in high-density patch fields, server rooms, and telecommunications rooms where cable bulk restricts airflow or makes dressing difficult. It connects network equipment such as switches, routers, servers, and patch panels in structured cabling systems built to TIA-568 or ISO 11801 standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit patch cord for Cat 6A UTP structured cabling systems terminating with standard RJ45 interfaces per TIA-568 specifications.
Installation is performed by low-voltage cabling technicians in accordance with TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Power down or disconnect active network equipment before replacing patch cords in live environments where service disruption is a concern. Avoid exceeding the minimum bend radius of the cable during routing and dressing to maintain Cat 6A signal performance. Do not cinch hook-and-loop or cable ties so tightly that the cable jacket deforms, as this can degrade transmission characteristics.
