The PANDUIT UTP28X16BU is a Cat 6A 28 AWG unshielded twisted pair (UTP) patch cord designed for high-density structured cabling installations. Built to Cat 6A performance standards, it supports 10-Gigabit Ethernet and is suited for data center, enterprise, and commercial network environments. The 28 AWG conductor gauge makes this cord noticeably slimmer and lighter than standard 23 AWG patch cords, reducing cable bulk and improving airflow in high-density patch fields. Network technicians, low-voltage cabling contractors, and IT infrastructure installers are the primary trades that specify and install this product.
This patch cord is used in structured cabling systems where rack space, airflow, and bend radius management are critical concerns. High-density patch panels, top-of-rack switch connections, and horizontal cross-connect fields are common deployment points. The slim profile is particularly well suited to data center environments where cable management density is high and airflow between equipment must be maintained. It ships as a single unit and is ready to install out of the package.
Designed as an OEM-style patch cord compatible with standard Cat 6A RJ45 keystone jacks, patch panels, and switch ports in structured cabling systems built to TIA-568-C.2-1 or ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA specifications.
Installation is performed by low-voltage cabling contractors or qualified IT infrastructure technicians. Power down or place ports in an administratively disabled state before disconnecting active links where traffic disruption is a concern. Observe minimum bend radius requirements per TIA-568 guidelines and avoid sharp kinks or pinch points that can degrade Cat 6A signal performance. Do not exceed the rated pull tension when routing through conduit or cable management hardware.
