Compression-style lugs create a cold-weld bond between the conductor and lug barrel when crimped with the correct tooling, resulting in a gas-tight connection that resists vibration, oxidation, and thermal cycling. This lug is suited for licensed electricians and electrical contractors working on panel terminations, switchgear, bus connections, and related high-current wiring tasks where metric stud sizing is specified.
Copper compression metric lugs are commonly used in commercial and industrial electrical installations where metric hardware standards apply. Typical applications include connecting copper conductors to bus bars, transformer terminals, switchgear studs, and grounding electrodes. Designed as an OEM-style compression termination lug for use with copper conductors in metric-hardware electrical installations requiring a crimp-style lug connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conductor terminations. De-energize and lock out the circuit before beginning any termination work. Use a calibrated compression crimping tool rated for the lug and conductor size to ensure a proper gas-tight crimp. Do not use mechanical setscrew connections or solder in place of the compression crimp.
