The PANDUIT LAB250-12-15 is an aluminum compression lug designed for making secure, low-resistance electrical terminations in power distribution and grounding applications. Compression lugs of this type are crimped onto aluminum conductors using a die-set compression tool, creating a gas-tight mechanical bond that resists loosening over time. This lug is sold individually and suits work where a single termination point is needed. Electricians and electrical contractors working on service entrance, feeder, or equipment grounding circuits are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
Aluminum compression lugs are used in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations wherever aluminum conductors must terminate at a busbar, switchgear lug pad, or equipment terminal. The LAB250-12-15 designation indicates this lug is sized for use with a 250 kcmil aluminum conductor and is suited for panel, meter base, and disconnect applications where aluminum wiring is specified or preferred for cost and weight reasons.
Designed as an OEM-style compression lug for aluminum conductor termination applications in electrical power distribution systems. Confirm conductor size and stud hole diameter against installation requirements before ordering.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before beginning any termination work. Use the correct compression tool and manufacturer-specified die set to achieve a proper crimp; an improper crimp can result in a high-resistance joint or conductor pullout. Apply an antioxidant compound to the aluminum conductor before insertion into the lug barrel, as is standard practice for aluminum terminations.
