The PANDUIT HTDU3O-FO is an underground detectable tape designed for marking and identifying buried utilities and conduit runs. Detectable tapes of this type are installed above buried lines during backfill to give excavators and utility locators a warning layer before reaching the line itself. This tape is sold as a single unit (EA) and is a standard accessory used by electricians, plumbers, and utility contractors during underground installation work.
Underground detectable tape is used in residential and commercial applications wherever buried electrical conduit, gas lines, water lines, or communication cables require a secondary warning and identification layer. It is laid directly above the buried utility during trench backfill, typically between six and twelve inches above the line, to alert future excavators before they reach the utility itself.
Designed as an OEM-style warning accessory for use in underground utility installation applications involving buried conduit, pipe, or cable runs.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians, plumbers, or utility contractors during trench backfill operations. Power down or shut off the relevant utility system before performing any work in the trench area. Place the tape above the buried line at the depth required by local code or project specification. Refer to applicable NEC, IPC, or IFGC guidelines for required burial depths and warning tape placement requirements.
