The PANDUIT HSTTVA38-48-Q is a thin-wall, adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing assembly used to insulate, seal, and protect wire terminations, splices, and cable bundles in electrical and data wiring applications. The adhesive inner layer activates during shrinking to create a moisture-resistant seal around conductors and connectors. This type of tubing is installed by licensed electricians, instrumentation technicians, and panel builders working across commercial, industrial, and marine electrical systems. It is sold as an individual piece (per each unit of measure).
Thin-wall adhesive heat shrink tubing is commonly applied in control panel wiring, terminal insulation, connector strain relief, and field repair of damaged wire jackets. It performs well in environments where moisture ingress, vibration, or mechanical abrasion are concerns. Typical install scenarios include junction box terminations, sensor lead protection, and multi-conductor harness bundling in both indoor and outdoor rated enclosures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard field-stock heat shrink tubing for electrical wire terminations and splice protection in commercial and industrial wiring applications.
Installation is typically performed by a qualified electrician or instrumentation technician. De-energize the circuit completely before applying heat shrink tubing to any live termination or splice point. Use a calibrated heat gun set to the appropriate shrink temperature range for the tubing material — open flame torches are not recommended as they can cause uneven shrink or damage the adhesive layer. Follow applicable NEC guidelines for insulation integrity at termination points.
