The PANDUIT HSTT4A31-48-Q is a heat shrink tubing section with a 4:1 shrink ratio and a supplied inner diameter of 0.315 inches (8.0 mm). The 4:1 ratio means the tubing shrinks to one-quarter of its original diameter when heated, providing a tight, conforming fit over irregular shapes, connector bodies, wire bundles, and splices. Electricians and low-voltage technicians use this tubing to insulate, seal, and protect conductors and terminations in electrical panels, control wiring, and field-installed cable assemblies. It is sold as a single piece (EA).
This tubing is suited for residential and commercial electrical work where wire insulation repair, bundle identification, or connector strain relief is needed. It is appropriate for use in electrical panels, junction boxes, machine wiring, and low-voltage control circuits. The 0.315 inch supplied diameter accommodates a range of wire gauges and small connector bodies. It is a standard trade consumable stocked by electricians, control panel builders, and instrumentation technicians.
Designed as a general-purpose heat shrink tubing piece for use on wire terminations, splices, and connector bodies where a 0.315 inch or smaller supplied diameter is appropriate.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified low-voltage technicians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before applying tubing to conductors or terminations. Use a calibrated heat gun rather than an open flame to apply even heat and achieve uniform shrink without scorching. Ensure the tubing fully covers the intended area before applying heat, as repositioning after shrink begins is not possible.
