The PANDUIT HST1.5-12-5Y is a heat shrink tubing section designed for wire and cable insulation, bundling, and strain relief in electrical installations. Measuring 1.50 inches in diameter and 12 inches in length, this tubing shrinks when exposed to heat to form a tight, protective sleeve over conductors, terminals, and splices. Electricians and low-voltage technicians use heat shrink tubing as a standard method for providing abrasion resistance, moisture protection, and electrical insulation at termination points. It is well suited for both field service work and panel shop assembly applications.
This tubing is appropriate for use in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever wire protection or organized bundling is required. The 1.50-inch recovered diameter makes it a practical fit for larger conductors, cable bundles, and connector backshells. It is commonly applied during panel wiring, conduit terminations, and equipment harness repair by licensed electricians and instrumentation technicians.
Designed as a general-purpose heat shrink tubing section compatible with standard electrical conductors, cable bundles, and connector backshells with an outer diameter at or below the supplied inner diameter of 1.50 inches.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified technicians following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any conductor or termination. Use a heat gun with controlled output to apply uniform heat around the tubing circumference, working from the center outward to avoid trapping air. Do not use an open flame, as uncontrolled heat can damage the tubing or underlying insulation.
