The PANDUIT ge255-l is a slotted wall-type grommet edging strip designed to protect wires and cables from chafing against sharp panel edges, knockouts, and cutouts. Made from Nylon 6.6 material, each strip measures 12.75 inches long and fits panels ranging from 0.192 inches to 0.255 inches thick. The slot opening is 0.39 inches wide by 0.24 inches high. Rated to UL 94 V-2 for flammability and RoHS compliant, this edging meets Applicable Standard MS21266, making it appropriate for aerospace and industrial panel applications. Electricians, panel builders, and aerospace wiring technicians are the primary installers.
The ge255-l is used wherever wire bundles or individual conductors pass through panel walls, enclosure knockouts, or sheet metal cutouts and require edge protection. Typical applications include electrical enclosures, control panels, avionics bays, and industrial equipment where bare metal edges present a chafing or abrasion risk to insulation. The slotted design allows the strip to snap onto panel edges without requiring a pre-drilled hole. The natural color finish suits general-purpose installations where color coding is not required. Each package contains 50 strips.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install grommet edging for panel walls and enclosures with wall thicknesses between 0.192 inches and 0.255 inches, conforming to Applicable Standard MS21266.
De-energize all circuits in the enclosure or panel before routing wire bundles through any opening fitted with this edging. Press the slotted strip firmly onto the panel edge, working along the length until fully seated. No adhesive or fasteners are required for standard installations, but verify that the panel wall thickness falls within the 0.192 to 0.255 inch range before installation. Follow applicable NEC or customer-specified wiring standards when routing and securing conductors through the protected opening.
