The PANDUIT FT50-C is an insulating fiberglass tube designed to provide electrical insulation and mechanical protection for conductors, terminals, and splices in wiring and control panel applications. Fiberglass construction offers resistance to heat, abrasion, and common industrial chemicals, making it suitable for environments where standard plastic sleeving would degrade. Electricians and panel builders use this type of sleeving to protect bare wire ends, bus bar connections, and terminal lugs where additional dielectric standoff is required. The tube is sold individually and is sized at 1 inch.
This insulating tube is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations. Typical applications include motor control centers, switchgear, distribution panels, and industrial wiring harnesses where exposed conductors or terminals require insulation beyond what standard wire insulation provides. It is also used during maintenance and retrofit work to re-insulate conductors at terminal points or to sleeve exposed fasteners in high-voltage compartments.
Designed as an OEM-style insulating sleeving component for use in electrical panel wiring, terminal insulation, and conductor protection applications where a fiberglass tube of this diameter is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying or repositioning insulating sleeving near live conductors or bus connections. Slide the tube fully over the conductor or terminal before making final connections to ensure complete coverage of exposed metal. Inspect the tube for cuts or abrasion damage before installation and replace if the sleeve integrity is compromised.
