The PANDUIT FSDP948Y is a 9-micrometer OS2 single-mode indoor distribution fiber optic cable assembly designed for structured cabling installations in commercial and enterprise environments. Built to OS2 standards, this cable supports long-distance, low-attenuation transmission over single-mode fiber, making it well suited for backbone runs, data center interconnects, and intra-building distribution pathways. With a 48-fiber count, it delivers high-density capacity in a single cable route. Licensed low-voltage and data communications contractors are the typical installers for this product type.
This cable is intended for indoor distribution applications where a high fiber count is required within a single building or campus structure. It fits standard commercial structured cabling projects including telecommunications rooms, main distribution frames, and horizontal or vertical backbone segments. The distribution-style construction supports breakout to individual fibers for termination at patch panels or wall outlets. It is sold as a single unit (EA) and is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit cabling projects.
Designed as an OEM-style indoor distribution fiber optic cable for use with OS2 single-mode patch panels, fiber enclosures, and termination hardware in commercial structured cabling systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or data communications contractor familiar with TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Power down or de-energize any active equipment connected to the fiber pathway before beginning termination work. Follow minimum bend-radius requirements for the cable diameter to avoid fiber stress or signal loss. Laser sources used with single-mode fiber are invisible and potentially hazardous — follow proper fiber optic safety procedures during testing and inspection.
