The PANDUIT FODRX48Y is a 48-fiber indoor distribution cable built around 50-micron OM3 multimode optical fiber. Distribution-style cables house multiple tight-buffered fibers under a single jacket, making them well suited for high-density runs inside buildings where individual fibers need to be broken out at patch panels or splice enclosures. OM3 glass supports 10-Gigabit Ethernet at distances up to 300 meters and 40G or 100G applications at shorter reaches, meeting the demands of modern structured cabling installations. Low-voltage and datacom installers work with this cable type in backbone and horizontal distribution runs.
This cable is intended for indoor use in commercial and enterprise environments. Typical installations include data center backbone runs, telecommunications rooms, and riser or plenum pathways where a high fiber count is needed in a single cable pull. The tight-buffered construction allows fibers to be terminated directly without an external breakout kit, simplifying termination at patch panels and fiber distribution units.
