The PANDUIT CTAP4/0-2-X is a copper compression C-tap connector designed for reliable tap connections in electrical distribution and grounding applications. C-tap connectors allow a branch conductor to be tapped off a main run conductor without cutting the main, maintaining circuit continuity while adding a new branch. This connector is fabricated from copper for excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance. It is installed using a compatible compression tool and is suited for work in panel feeders, service entrance wiring, and equipment grounding applications. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors perform this type of connection on both new construction and retrofit projects.
The CTAP4/0-2-X is intended for use in power distribution systems where a secure, low-resistance tap connection is required. The single-hole entry design accepts the specified conductor sizes for both the main and tap positions. Applications include service entrance assemblies, switchgear connections, transformer tap work, and grounding electrode conductor splices in commercial and industrial electrical installations. This connector is sold individually as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style compression C-tap connector for use in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical distribution and grounding installations where copper conductor tap connections are required.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any connections. A properly sized compression tool compatible with PANDUIT C-tap connectors is required to achieve a correct crimp — do not use an undersized or oversized die. Inspect the finished crimp for full die closure and proper seating of both the main and tap conductors before re-energizing.
