The PAMEX FTF940 is a Baron knob half dummy lockset with a round rose, finished in matte black. A half dummy lockset has no latch mechanism and no keying — it functions as a pull-only door knob, typically installed on a closet door, bi-fold door, or any door that does not require latching or locking. The FTF940 is rated Grade 3, meeting standard residential-grade duty requirements. The round rose backplate measures 2.75 inches in diameter, and the overall unit fits within a 3.25-inch height profile. Installation requires only basic hand tools and is suited for finish carpenters, door hardware installers, and residential remodelers.
This half dummy lockset is used on non-latching interior doors in residential applications. Common install locations include closet doors, pantry doors, decorative passage doors, and paired bi-fold or French door setups where a matching inactive side knob is needed. The matte black finish coordinates with contemporary and transitional interior hardware schemes. Sold individually, with a case quantity of 50 units available for higher-volume projects.
Designed as a residential-grade half dummy lockset for standard interior door preparations where no latching or locking function is required.
Half dummy locksets are installed by finish carpenters or door hardware installers and do not require a latch bore or strike plate. Power tools are not required — a screwdriver is typically sufficient. Confirm door thickness and backset dimensions before installation to ensure proper rose seating against the door face. No electrical shutoff or trade licensing is required for standard dummy hardware installation.
