The PACKARD 46034 is an electronically commutated (ECM) direct drive blower motor rated at 3/4 horsepower and designed for ducted forced-air systems. It operates on dual voltage, accepting either 115 or 230 volts at 50/60 Hz, and delivers 1075 RPM across four selectable speeds. The motor uses ball bearings and a belly band mount, and it includes a wiring harness and installation manual in the box. Rotation is fully reversible and the motor features rotation sensing capability, making it a flexible option for replacement work. A licensed HVAC technician performs the installation in residential or light commercial air handler applications.
The 46034 is built to replace constant torque EC motors and can also serve as an upgrade over standard PSC blower motors. Its dual voltage rating and reversible rotation make it adaptable across a range of ducted air handler configurations. The motor draws 4.9 amps at 230 volts and 8.2 amps at 115 volts. The 1/2 inch by 5 inch shaft fits common blower wheel hubs used in residential furnace and air handler cabinets. Single-phase power and belly band mounting are standard for this class of replacement motor.
Designed as a direct replacement for constant torque ECM blower motors and as an upgrade replacement for PSC direct drive blower motors in ducted single-phase air handler and furnace applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out power to the air handler or furnace before removing the existing motor. Belly band mounting requires secure torque on the band clamp to prevent motor movement during operation; consult the included installation manual for the manufacturer's fastening procedure. Verify voltage selection and speed tap wiring against the system wiring diagram before restoring power.
