The Oxbox J5PG4036A1090A is a 3-ton (36,000 BTU) gas/electric packaged unit that combines electric cooling and natural gas heating in a single outdoor cabinet. The cooling side is rated at 13.4 SEER2 using R-454B low-GWP refrigerant, keeping the system compliant with current environmental standards. The gas furnace section delivers 90,000 BTU/h of heating capacity at 81% AFUE. Operating on 208/230-volt single-phase power, this single-stage unit is designed for installation by licensed HVAC technicians on residential, multi-family, and light commercial applications where a compact, all-in-one footprint is required.
This packaged unit is suited for rooftop or ground-level installations where duct connections enter the unit from the bottom or side. The all-in-one cabinet integrates the compressor, evaporator, condenser, and gas furnace assembly, eliminating the need for a separate air handler or furnace indoors. Typical applications include slab-mounted residential installs, low-slope commercial rooftop applications, and multi-family housing where indoor mechanical space is limited. Auxiliary electric heaters are available in 5 kW through 20 kW for supplemental heating if required.
Designed as an OEM packaged gas/electric replacement or new-installation unit in the Oxbox J5PG4 product family. Consult the unit submittal and installation manual for duct connection dimensions and electrical requirements before ordering.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician following local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation manual. Shut off all electrical power and close the gas supply valve before beginning any service or connection work. A condensate drain trap is required at the 3/4-inch NPT drain connection. Refrigerant handling requires EPA Section 608 certification due to the R-454B charge in this unit.
