The OWENS CORNING 441680 is a rigid fiberglass duct board panel used to fabricate and insulate rectangular air distribution ductwork in HVAC systems. Sold in a pack of six panels, each panel measures 48 inches x 96 inches, providing substantial coverage for new duct construction or duct replacement projects. The Quiet-R product line is engineered to reduce airborne sound transmission through duct walls, making it well suited for applications where noise control is a priority alongside thermal performance. HVAC contractors and sheet metal fabricators use this material to form supply and return duct sections directly from board stock.
Quiet-R duct board is used in residential and light commercial HVAC installations where both insulation and acoustic performance are required. The rigid panel format allows fabricators to score, cut, and form rectangular duct runs without additional insulation wrap. It is commonly installed in air handler systems, rooftop unit distribution networks, and forced-air systems where duct runs pass through conditioned or semi-conditioned spaces.
Designed for use in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC duct fabrication applications requiring rigid fiberglass duct board panels.
Duct board fabrication and installation is performed by licensed HVAC contractors and sheet metal workers. All duct systems must be fabricated and sealed in accordance with SMACNA standards and applicable local mechanical codes. Shut down and de-energize the air handling system before connecting new duct sections. Use appropriate fiberglass-rated tools and personal protective equipment, including gloves and respiratory protection, when cutting and handling fiberglass board.
