The OSRAM MP70/U/MED is a 70-watt quartz metal halide pulse-start HID lamp designed for commercial and industrial lighting applications. It produces 5,200 initial lumens at 3000 Kelvin with a color rendering index (CRI) of 75, making it well suited for environments where accurate color perception and strong output matter. The E26 medium base fits standard HID sockets, and the universal operating position allows installation in any fixture orientation. The METALARC PRO-TECH construction includes a glass shroud that provides lamp containment and UV reduction, permitting use in both open and enclosed fixtures.

Installation Notes

HID lamp replacement should be performed by a qualified electrician with the circuit de-energized and the fixture allowed to cool completely before handling. When installing in open fixtures, use exclusionary sockets as required to comply with lamp and fixture manufacturer guidelines. Allow adequate restrike time after power cycling, as HID lamps require a warm-up period before reaching full output.
