The OSRAM FBO31/841 is a 31-watt T8 U-bent fluorescent lamp designed for commercial and industrial lighting applications. Built on the Octron 800 platform with rare earth phosphor technology, it delivers an initial output of 2,725 lumens and a mean output of 2,560 lumens at 25 degrees C. The lamp operates on both instant-start and programmed rapid-start ballasts, offering flexibility across a range of compatible fixtures. With a color temperature of 4100K and a color rendering index of 82, it produces a neutral cool-white light well suited to offices, retail spaces, and light industrial environments. Licensed electricians and lighting contractors handle routine installation and replacement.
This lamp is intended for use in U-bent fluorescent fixtures found in recessed troffers and other commercial overhead lighting systems. The 1-5/8-inch leg spacing is the standard dimension for this lamp family. It is packaged individually and available in cases of 15. The lamp is TCLP compliant and lead-free, meeting environmental disposal requirements that are increasingly mandated in commercial renovation and new-construction projects. Rated lamp life ranges from 15,000 hours at 3-hour instant-start cycling up to 28,000 hours at 12-hour programmed rapid-start cycling, making operating cycle a meaningful factor in fixture selection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for T8 U-bent fluorescent fixtures using medium bi-pin lamps with 1-5/8-inch leg spacing and compatible with both instant-start and programmed rapid-start ballast systems.
Installation and lamp replacement should be performed by a qualified electrician or lighting maintenance technician. De-energize the fixture at the breaker before handling any lamp or ballast components. Confirm ballast type and compatibility with instant-start or programmed rapid-start operation before installation. Dispose of spent fluorescent lamps in accordance with local regulations governing mercury-containing waste.
