The OSG VGM5-0150 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling across a wide range of demanding workpiece materials. With a 0.5 inch diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius, it delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single tool. The five-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with variable index geometry reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. An EXO coating provides wear resistance and thermal protection during aggressive cuts in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Installed in a standard toolholder, this end mill suits machine shops, tool rooms, and production environments where surface finish and edge integrity matter.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines handling ferrous and non-ferrous hard materials. Its single-end, straight-cylindrical shank fits standard toolholders without adapters. The center-cutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. Normal pitch combined with a high helix angle makes it effective for slotting, profiling, and contouring on steel and stainless steel components where corner integrity must be maintained. It is part of the OSG VGM5 series, engineered for general-purpose to high-demand production applications.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Part of the OSG VGM5 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Verify toolholder bore matches the 0.5 inch shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable tolerance before engaging the cut. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path is programmed before mounting. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when setting axial depth; consult OSG VGM5 series cutting data for recommended speeds and feeds specific to the workpiece material.
