The OSG VG464-7503 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the VG464 series platform, it features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.02 inch chamfer width. The four-flute, variable-index geometry combined with a 35-degree medium helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces chatter during aggressive cuts. A TiAlN PVD coating extends tool life at elevated temperatures, making this end mill well suited for dry or near-dry cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace environments rely on tools in this class for multi-operation efficiency.
The VG464-7503 is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its centercutting capability and variable flute geometry support a wide range of operations including shouldering, slotting, rampdown, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing. The Weldon flat shank with a 3/4 inch shank diameter provides secure tool holding in standard end mill holders and Weldon-style chucks. At 7 inches overall length, this is classified as a long-reach tool, making it practical for deep-cavity or hard-to-reach feature machining on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use in standard 3/4 inch Weldon-style end mill holders and compatible tool holding systems on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), S (superalloys and titanium), and H (hard materials) per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before loading or removing the end mill. Seat the Weldon flat securely against the setscrew in the holder and torque per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, particularly on long-reach setups where deflection is a factor.
