The OSG VG464-6253 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Measuring 5/8 inch in diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 7 inch overall length, this tool is built for both roughing and finishing operations. The 45-degree chamfer angle and 0.02 inch chamfer width deliver precise edge breaking and chamfering. A TiAlN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in abrasive materials. The variable flute index and 35-degree medium helix angle reduce harmonics and chatter during aggressive cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary installers and operators of this end mill.
This end mill is suited for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It supports a wide range of operations including shouldering, slotting, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry into workpiece material. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive and secure tool holding in compatible end mill holders. This is a single-end tool with right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute orientation, appropriate for standard CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills compatible with 5/8 inch Weldon flat shank toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Part of the OSG VG464 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before mounting. Confirm Weldon flat set screw engagement is proper and that the shank is fully seated in the holder before operation. Follow machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for set screws and verify runout before beginning cuts.
