The OSG VG446-3751 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. The tool features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter with a 0.06 inch corner radius, four flutes, and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions. The overall length is 4 inches, with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a Weldon flat shank for secure toolholder engagement. The variable index geometry and medium helix design support both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup, making this end mill a practical choice for production machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extended reach configuration, with a reach length of 1.875 inches and a neck diameter of 0.353 inches, allows access to deeper pockets and shoulder features without sacrificing rigidity. The centercutting design permits plunge entry, and the right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC vertical or horizontal milling centers. This tool is appropriate for job shops, aerospace suppliers, and manufacturing facilities working with difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Part of the OSG VG446 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Confirm shank diameter tolerance (h6) is compatible with the selected toolholder bore before assembly. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Follow all machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures before tool changes.
