The OSG VG436-7500 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision edge preparation and profiling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 3/4 inch mill diameter, 7/8 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle at 0.02 inch chamfer width, this tool delivers consistent, repeatable chamfered edges in a single pass. The TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, making it well suited for high-speed dry or near-dry machining operations. Four variable-index flutes with a 35-degree medium helix angle support both roughing and finishing cuts in a single setup. The Weldon flat shank at 3/4 inch diameter ensures secure tool holding in standard milling chucks and collets.
This end mill is engineered for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is appropriate for shouldering and slotting operations in job shop, production, and tool-and-die environments. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry where required. Single-end configuration with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation covers the majority of vertical machining center and CNC milling setups. The stub length type keeps overhang minimal, improving rigidity when working in harder or more difficult-to-machine workpiece materials.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Suited for shouldering and slotting operations on CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 3/4 inch tool holders or Weldon flat-style chucks.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle at a full stop and machine power locked out. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully in the holder and confirm set screw torque per the tool holder manufacturer specification before running. Inspect the cutting edges and TiAlN coating for chips or wear before each use, as carbide end mills are brittle and a damaged edge can fracture under load. Follow the tool manufacturer feed and speed guidelines for the specific workpiece material and machine rigidity to avoid premature tool failure.
