The OSG VG434-4375 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal and finishing in demanding machining applications. It features a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) cutting diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and 4 flutes with a right-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction. The tool is coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, improving heat resistance and extending tool life when cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. At 2.75 inches overall length with a 1 inch length of cut, this end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops or production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers with a compatible toolholder accepting a 7/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. It is optimized for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, and the single-end configuration suits standard tool change workflows. The variable index geometry distributes cutting forces to reduce chatter, making it a practical choice for tight-tolerance slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on difficult-to-machine materials.
Designed for use with toolholders accepting a 7/16 inch straight cylindrical shank (shank diameter tolerance h6). Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as identified by material codes P, M, K, S, and H. Part of the OSG VG434 series.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully in a clean, correctly sized toolholder collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are within the machine tool and toolholder manufacturer recommendations for this diameter and material. Never exceed the rated length of cut to avoid deflection or tool breakage.
