The OSG VG434-2503 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. With a 0.25-inch diameter, 0.03-inch corner radius, and four flutes, it delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single tool. The TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. The long-series design features a 0.75-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length. Right-hand cutting and flute direction, combined with center-cutting capability, make this tool suitable for plunge entry and contour work. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using standard toolholders with straight-cylindrical shank compatibility.
This end mill is built for use in ferrous and high-hardness workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The micrograin carbide substrate supports elevated cutting speeds and feeds in these challenging applications. The normal pitch, spiral flute design with a medium helix angle promotes chip evacuation and surface finish quality. It is well suited for precision die work, aerospace component machining, and general metalworking where corner radii are required to reduce stress concentrations at part features.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, K, S, and H. Part of the OSG VG434 series.
Install in a clean, properly sized toolholder collet or end mill holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification before use. Inspect the shank and cutting edges for damage before mounting. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped before tool changes. Consult the applicable machining data sheet for starting feed rates and speeds when cutting superalloys or hardened materials, as these vary by machine and setup rigidity.
