The OSG VG434-1000 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 1-inch cutting diameter, a 0.0300-inch corner radius, and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life when cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The 4-flute geometry with a 35-degree helix angle and variable index supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. Weighing 1.4 pounds, this centercutting, single-end mill is built from micrograin solid carbide stock for rigidity and wear resistance. It is suited for machinists and toolroom operators running CNC mills and machining centers.
This end mill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 1.5-inch length of cut and 4-inch overall length make it well-suited for medium-depth peripheral and slot milling passes. The Weldon flat shank interfaces directly with standard toolholders. It is commonly used in production shops, aerospace component work, mold and die machining, and general-purpose precision metalworking applications where corner edge protection and coating durability are critical.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat-style toolholders. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Part of the OSG VG434 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before loading or removing the end mill. Seat the Weldon flat shank securely in the toolholder and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut. Consult the machine tool and toolholder manufacturer specifications for proper clamping torque and stick-out length.
