The OSG HP441-2756 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Part of the HP441 series, it features a 0.2756-inch cutting diameter, a 0.748-inch length of cut, and four spiral flutes with a 35-degree helix angle. The TiAlN coating improves heat resistance and tool life during high-speed cutting. The micrograin carbide substrate provides edge stability in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This is a center-cutting tool, meaning it can be used for plunge operations as well as peripheral milling. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms are the primary users.
The HP441-2756 is suited for slot milling, profiling, and pocketing operations where tight tolerances and a consistent finish are required. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. The 8.00 mm (approximately 0.315 inch) shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders used on vertical machining centers and milling machines. The 35-degree helix promotes efficient chip evacuation, making this tool appropriate for moderate to aggressive feeds in steel, alloy steel, stainless, and hardened materials where TiAlN coatings perform well.
Designed as an OEM-style cutting tool for use in standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting an 8.00 mm shank diameter on vertical machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Ensure the shank is clean and seated fully in the holder before torquing the collet or set screws according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before first use. Follow the tool manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material to avoid premature coating breakdown or edge chipping.
