The OSG HP441-1875-BN is a solid carbide ball end mill from the HP441BN Hy-Pro-Carb series, engineered for extended tool life in demanding machining applications. It features a 3/16-inch (0.1875-inch) diameter, a 5/8-inch length of cut, and a 4-flute spiral design with a 35-degree medium helix angle. The TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. The submicron carbide grade substrate supports rigidity and edge retention. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual mills and CNC machining centers for both roughing and finishing operations.
The HP441-1875-BN is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank design makes it a standard-configuration tool for use in precision collet chucks and end mill holders on vertical and horizontal machining centers. With a 2-inch overall length and standard length classification, it fits within typical reach envelopes for die cavities, slots, and contoured surface work. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are consistent with conventional CNC spindle setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for secondary workpiece material codes P, M, K, S, and H covering steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys and titanium, and hard materials.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an appropriate safe state before tool changes. Seat the shank fully into a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
