The OSG HP441-0938 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Part of the HP441 series, it features a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) mill diameter with a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) length of cut and a 1-1/2 inch overall length. The four-flute, right-hand cutting geometry combined with a 35-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A TiAlN coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened material applications. Micrograin carbide construction supports tight tolerances at elevated cutting speeds. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindle setups requiring a small-diameter cutting tool. The 1/8 inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collets and toolholders used in precision die-and-mold work, aerospace component machining, and general metalworking. It is well-suited for cutting steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and similar materials where a TiAlN-coated carbide tool is appropriate. Machinists and toolmakers performing close-tolerance work at high RPM will find the regular-length geometry practical for reaching recessed features without excessive overhang.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter collet or toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with toolholder torque procedures and collet chuck systems. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended gauge-line depth and secure according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts to protect both the tool and workpiece.
