The OSG HP421-1094-BN is a single-end ball end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide and finished with a PVD TiAlN coating, this tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. The 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch) mill diameter, 2-flute spiral geometry, and 35-degree medium helix angle work together to deliver efficient chip evacuation and edge stability at the cutting zone. Machinists running CNC mills in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments rely on this series for consistent performance across a range of workpiece materials.
The HP421-1094-BN is part of the OSG Hy-Pro-Carb HP421BN series, a line engineered for extended tool life on difficult-to-machine materials. It is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The straight-cylindrical shank and standard length configuration make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Part of the OSG HP421BN series. Rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders sized for 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification before cutting. Verify runout at the spindle before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Always confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool.
