The OSG HP255-7677 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Designed around OSG's HP255 series, this bit features a 19.5 mm (0.7677 inch) cutting diameter, a 140-degree R-thinned point for accurate self-centering entry, and a WD1 coating that extends tool life in ferrous materials. Two spiral flutes with a regular helix evacuate chips efficiently through the full 101 mm flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 20 mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators working in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron will find this bit suited to both manual and automated drilling operations.
The HP255-7677 is intended for drilling in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces at production volumes. It supports blind hole, cross hole, and through-hole drilling applications, and is self-centering by design. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through capability make it practical for deeper holes where chip clearance and heat management are critical. This bit is appropriate for job shop, tool room, and automated machining center use.

Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and within tolerance before seating the straight-cylindrical shank, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to runout. Power down and lock out the machine before changing or setting tools. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for carbide drills in the workpiece material being cut; do not force-feed or operate without adequate coolant flow when using the through-coolant feature.
