The OSG HP253-3465 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. Sized at 0.3465 inches (8.80 mm) in diameter with a 140-degree split point and R-thinned web, it delivers fast penetration and accurate entry without a center punch. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 10.00 mm and seats securely in standard chucks or toolholders. Coolant-through design supports high-speed production cycles. This bit is intended for machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators running steel, alloy steel, or cast iron components.
The HP253-3465 is built for screw machine and short-hole applications where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical. Its screw machine length body keeps deflection minimal in close-tolerance bores. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry handle chip evacuation efficiently in the primary workpiece materials of steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. This bit fits production environments including CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes where repeatable hole quality is required.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank fully in a compatible chuck or collet to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth before running. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the bit. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant supply through the spindle when the coolant-through feature is engaged to prevent thermal damage to the cutting edge.
