The OSG 9599050 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in ferrous and hard metals. Built from XPM high-speed steel with an XPM coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in demanding production environments. The 130-degree split point reduces walking and lowers thrust at entry, making it well-suited for accurate hole starting without a center punch. With a right-hand cut, two-flute spiral configuration, and R-thinned web, this bit is a practical choice for machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking shops running high-cycle operations on steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloys.
The 9599050 fits screw machine length drilling applications where a shorter, stiffer body is preferred over jobber length for improved rigidity and hole accuracy. It is intended for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and production screw machines working in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloy workpieces. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard chucks and collets without adapters. This bit is sold individually and is part of the OSG Series 1900 line of high-performance metric-size drills.
Designed for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and production screw machines with chucks or collets accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for primary workpiece materials including steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloy.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before operation. Power down and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting the bit. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and machine type.
