The OSG 9599025 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in tough ferrous and exotic base materials. Built on the Series 1900 platform, it features an XPM high-performance tool material with a coated finish that extends tool life under demanding conditions. The drill measures 2.50 mm (0.0984 inches) in diameter with a 130-degree drill point angle and an X-Thinned web for reduced thrust and improved chip evacuation. With a right-hand spiral flute and standard point type, it delivers consistent, clean entry in production and job-shop environments alike. Machinists and toolroom technicians rely on this bit for precision drilling in screw machine operations.
This drill bit is designed for use on steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloy workpieces. The screw machine length format — shorter overall length for increased rigidity — makes it well suited to CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and screw machine setups where stub-length reach is preferred. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip clearing in moderate-depth holes. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks and collets across a wide range of machine spindles.
Designed for drilling steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloy workpieces. Compatible with any machine spindle or drill chuck accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Drill bit diameter tolerance is plus 0 to minus 0.014 mm, placing it within the 0.0000 to 0.1000 decimal inch size range of the Series 1900 product family.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify chuck jaw condition and clamping torque are appropriate for the shank diameter before running at speed. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply external coolant or cutting fluid at the point of cut as required by the workpiece material and feed-speed parameters.
