The OSG 91401211 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, cast iron, and hardened materials. It features a 0.4724-inch (12 mm) cutting diameter and a 1.0236-inch (26 mm) length of cut, making it well suited for full-slot and peripheral milling operations that demand dimensional accuracy and edge integrity. The six-flute configuration paired with a 45-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter at elevated feed rates. The WXS coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in abrasive and high-heat applications. At 0.27 pounds, this single-end mill delivers a solid balance of rigidity and mass for precision machining work.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where tight tolerances are required in ferrous and hardened workpiece materials. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher cutting speeds compared to standard carbide grades, making it appropriate for production environments machining P, K, and H material group workpieces. The regular-length body fits standard tool holders and is compatible with 12 mm collets and end mill adapters. It is a single-end tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, positioned for general-purpose and finishing passes in shop floor and job shop applications.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Torque collet nuts or set screws to the tool holder manufacturer specifications using calibrated tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating before beginning a cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and should not be dropped or subjected to impact.
