The OSG 8696600 is a taper length twist drill bit built from solid carbide for high-performance drilling in demanding applications. It features a 0.2362 inch (6.00 mm) diameter with a 140-degree split point that reduces walking and improves hole entry accuracy. The EgiAs coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat management during extended cutting cycles. Right-hand spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently, and the through-coolant capability allows cutting fluid delivery directly to the cutting zone. At 0.085 pounds, this bit is designed for use in CNC machining centers and production drilling environments where consistent hole quality and tool life are required.
This drill bit suits precision metalworking and industrial fabrication applications where tight tolerances and deep hole drilling are required. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 78.00 mm flute length support deeper cuts without sacrificing rigidity. The straight shank with a 6.00 mm diameter fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks common in CNC machining setups. Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC programmer familiar with carbide tooling requirements.
