The OSG 8693350 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 13.50 mm diameter (0.5315 inch) cutting edge ground to a 140-degree point angle with R-thinned web geometry for improved self-centering and reduced thrust. The EgiAs coating provides thermal and wear resistance suited to aggressive cutting cycles. With an overall length of 176.00 mm and a flute length of 108.00 mm, this drill is configured for a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. It ships as a single unit and is targeted at machinists and tool-room technicians running CNC or manual drilling operations on ferrous and exotic materials.
This drill is engineered for use on steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys, covering ISO material codes P, K, S, and H. Typical applications include blind hole drilling, cross-hole drilling, and self-centering operations where a split-point geometry reduces walking on entry. The straight-cylindrical shank at 14.00 mm diameter seats directly in standard drill chucks or collet systems. Internal coolant-through capability supports higher feed rates and extended tool life when used in machining centers equipped with through-spindle coolant.
The OSG 8693350 belongs to OSG Series 6510 and is suited for workpiece materials coded P (steel), K (cast iron), S (titanium and titanium alloys), and H (hardened materials) per ISO designation. Applicable to blind hole, cross-hole, and general drilling operations on machining centers and drill presses equipped with through-spindle or flood coolant.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a full stop, locked-out state per applicable OSHA and shop lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank seating surface and collet or chuck bore are clean and free of chips before securing the tool. Verify runout at the cutting edge after installation to avoid premature wear or oversize holes. Coolant-through connections should be confirmed and pressure-tested before initiating a drilling cycle.
