The OSG 8693320 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials including steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys. It measures 13.2 mm in diameter with a 176 mm overall length and features a 140-degree R-thinned point that promotes self-centering and reduces thrust on entry. The EgiAs coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation at elevated cutting speeds. A two-flute spiral design with regular helix and tapered web construction supports efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes this bit suitable for deep-hole and interrupted-cut applications where heat buildup is a concern.
This drill bit is intended for professional machining and fabrication environments. It fits blind hole, cross hole, and standard through-drilling operations at a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, making it appropriate for moderate-depth bores. The straight-cylindrical shank at 14 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and tool holders. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and production floor operators working with ferrous metals and hard alloys are the primary users. It is part of the OSG Series 6510 high-performance carbide drill line.
Rated for primary workpiece materials steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy (ISO material codes P, K, S, H). Designed for use in Series 6510 OSG tooling applications. Fits standard tool holders and drill chucks accepting a 14 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling professionals familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Activate coolant-through flow before engaging the cut when using this feature to prevent thermal shock to the carbide substrate. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and replace the bit if chipping or coating breakdown is observed.
