The OSG 8692320 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough ferrous and exotic materials. It measures 3.2 mm in diameter with an overall length of 86 mm and a flute length of 29 mm. The 140-degree point angle with R-thinned web geometry reduces thrust force and promotes self-centering on entry. An EgiAs coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 4.0 mm in diameter and seats directly in standard drill chucks or collet toolholders. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators working with precision drilling applications.
The 8692320 is engineered for drilling in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys — material codes P, K, S, and H. It handles blind hole, cross hole, general drilling, and self-centering operations. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it a jobber-length tool appropriate for moderate-depth holes in production machining, maintenance, and fabrication environments. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management in high-cycle or interrupted-cut scenarios.
Designed for use in materials including steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet toolholders accepting a 4.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the OSG Series 6510 high-performance carbide drill lineup.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC or manual drilling operations. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully secured before engaging the tool. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and hole depth before running. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use — carbide tooling is brittle and should not be dropped or used if chipped.
