The OSG 8691510 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in hard and abrasion-resistant materials. It measures 0.5945 inches (15.10 mm) in diameter with a 140-degree split point geometry and an R-thinned web for reduced thrust and improved centering at entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 16.00 mm in diameter and fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. At 145.00 mm overall length with a 76.00 mm flute length, this is a stub-length format built for rigidity in short-reach applications. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers for this bit in production and maintenance environments.
The OSG 8691510 belongs to the Series 6500 and is rated for drilling into steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral geometry support chip evacuation in these demanding materials. Coolant-through capability makes it suited for CNC machining centers and other setups with internal coolant delivery. It is well matched to production drilling operations where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality in ferrous and titanium-family workpieces are required.
