The 140-degree point angle and R-thinned web geometry reduce thrust force and improve self-centering on entry. Verify spindle runout and collet or chuck condition before mounting to protect the carbide shank from fretting or chipping. Confirm that through-spindle coolant pressure is compatible with the machine tool and toolholder before enabling coolant-through flow. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loads, interrupted cuts beyond the tool rating, and contact with hard fixtures during setup.
