With a 0.2441 inch (6.20 mm) diameter and a 140-degree drill point angle, it delivers fast, accurate entry into hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The R-thinned web reduces thrust force at the point, while the tapered web configuration adds rigidity along the flute length. This bit is suited for production environments where tool life and hole quality in tough materials are critical priorities. The 8680620 is built for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys. Its screw machine length profile — shorter than jobber length — provides added rigidity and reduced deflection in tight setups or on short-travel drill heads. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio keeps chip evacuation efficient without sacrificing stiffness. Coolant-through capability makes it well matched to high-speed production runs where heat buildup would otherwise limit tool life. Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool safety. When using coolant-through capability, confirm coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the machine and material per the shop's standard operating procedure.
