The OSG 8670360 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. At 0.1417 inches (3.60 mm) in diameter, it features a 140-degree split point angle and a coated finish to extend tool life and reduce heat buildup during cutting. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 4.00 mm in diameter and seats securely in standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders. With a regular spiral flute and X-thinned web, this bit provides efficient chip evacuation and reduced thrust force. It belongs to the OSG Series 6300 and is built for right-hand cut applications in production and machining environments.
This drill bit is suited for screw machine, CNC drilling, and production floor applications targeting steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. The screw machine length format offers greater rigidity than jobber-length bits, making it a preferred choice when hole location accuracy and reduced deflection matter. It is typically used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on lathes, CNC machining centers, and automatic screw machines where consistent, repeatable hole quality is required.
Designed for drilling steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and CNC collet holders accepting a 4.00 mm shank diameter. Part of the OSG Series 6300 high-performance solid carbide drill line.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection for carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are free of debris and runout is within acceptable tolerance before seating the bit. Carbide tooling is brittle and should never be used in hand drills or hammer drill modes. Follow the machine manufacturer and OSG Series 6300 guidelines for appropriate RPM and feed rate based on workpiece material.
