The 140-degree split point reduces walking and enables faster penetration with less thrust force. At 0.1299 inches (3.30 mm) in diameter, the 8670330 features an X-thinned web and tapered web configuration that improve chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. Right-hand spiral flutes and a straight-cylindrical shank make this bit compatible with standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders. It is well suited for production machining environments where tool life and hole accuracy are priorities.
The OSG 8670330 is intended for drilling steel, alloy steel, and cast iron in screw machine, production, and general CNC machining applications. The screw machine length format provides a rigid, compact profile that minimizes deflection in close-tolerance drilling. With a 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry, this bit handles moderate chip loads at production feed rates. It is a practical choice for job shops, manufacturing floors, and maintenance operations working with ferrous workpieces on drill presses, lathes, or CNC machining centers.
Designed for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces as part of the OSG Series 6300 high-performance drill line. Fits standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 4.00 mm (approximately 0.157 inches) straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with speeds, feeds, and machine setup for carbide tooling. Inspect the spindle, chuck, and collet for runout before seating the bit, as excessive runout will chip carbide cutting edges. Do not use carbide drills in hand-held drills or in machines with significant spindle play. Secure the workpiece firmly and confirm proper coolant or lubrication strategy before beginning the cut, even when coolant-through capability is not required.
